Happy Mother’s Day!

Mothers, your children need you, to teach them the fear of God, how to respect others and to earn respect in the society.

The Lord said in the book of Isaiah 65:22-23, “they shall not build and another inhabit.  They shall not plant and another eats. For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of my people, and my elect (Mothers) shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble, (Amen). For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord and their off-spring with them.”

This scripture is telling us that our labour over our children will go from GENERATION to GENERATION. Mothers,  do not fail your children.

Before Samson was born, the angel of the Lord appeared to his mother and gave her instructions concerning Samson and even personally instructed her to be CAREFUL not to drink wine or any similar drink,(not in all cases it will be a similar instruction).  Also, she was told not eat anything unclean (Judges 13:3-4).  Many mothers have received such instructions concerning our children, that have totally forgotten in order to adhere to it, i.e by their own carelessness, too busy doing things that is out of God’s purpose and missing the special assignment God gave for their children. Psalm 32:8, God said “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye”. Also in Isaiah 41:10 The Lord declares “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am Your God.  I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”. Samson’s mother prayed to God to send the same angel back to teach them what they must do to help the child fulfil his purpose according to the will and purpose of God, despite this, his parents still failed to guide Samson along the correct path to fulfil the promises of God.

Today, I discovered that because of a careless attitude, lack of faith and not fearing God, many mothers who have received such instructions, have failed to play their part of the commandment from God. Rather, they are depending on someone else to do it for them, i.e friends, school, society, technology and so on. The Bible made it clear to us in Proverbs 22:6 that we should “train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it.”

Let us protect our children, guide our children, and lead them in the part of righteousness.

Women are really blessed to be chosen as the vessel to carry God’s children since the Lord Himself blessed mankind and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply; “fill the earth and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over…every living thing that moves on earth.” (Genesis 1:28).

Therefore, “rise up, you women who are at ease, hear my voice; you complacent daughters, give ear to my speech.  In a year and some days, you will be troubled, you complacent women, for vintage will fail the gathering will not come. TREMBLE, you women who are at ease, be troubled, you complacent ones, strip yourselves, make yourselves bare and gird sackcloth on your waist (fast and pray).” Isaiah 32: 9-11

If you don’t, you have no time, Jesus Christ is coming back soon and there is no way you will be happy to make heaven and not have the assurance that your children will make heaven too if you have fulfilled your purpose over them according to God’s commandments. This is not the time to be at ease with your children, this is not the time for you as a mother to let down your guard over them.

The Lord said in His word that our children will do great exploits in His name and not for the world or the devil father of all lies! “… it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy,…”(Joel 2:28). Do not let your children miss out because of your selfishness.  If Samson’s mother had not been careless, he would not have gone around confused, looking for women to love him because he lacked motherly love. This caused his downfall in a very hopeless and disgraceful way. He displeased God and brought shame to himself and his parents. “The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother”(Proverbs 29:15)

On the other hand Hannah asked the Lord for a child and she dedicated the child (Samuel) back to God in order for God to guide her in bringing him up. Samuel lived his life totally for God as His prophet.

It is written, “A wise woman builds her house but the foolish pulls it down with her hand.” (Proverbs 14:1). By not “withholding correction from a child for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die (this rod can mean different things, but the most important rod is the word of God).  You shall beat him with a rod and deliver his soul from hell.” (Proverbs 23:13).

It is very sad today to know that many mothers do not know anything about their children.  They have been left to fend for themselves while they have gone out to work in 2 or 3 jobs at the expense of their children’s spiritual and emotional growth.  Some mothers don’t even go to church with their children anymore, leaving them to do their own thing and robbing them of their blessings.

Picture this: a child finishes from school, but there is no mother or father to pick them up, resulting in them finding their own way home from school. Getting home, their mother or father is not home to share their thoughts or to ask what went on in their school that day and this can be an everyday scenario. With no one to talk to the children turns to their constant, dependable friend, ‘TECHNOLOGY’. Because they have grown too close to their friend that has filled this gaping gap for them, with love, friendship, comfort, and many more emotions. Mothers are now struggling to win their children back from their worldly friends and companions when it is sadly too late for them.

In conclusion, I will leave you with these words that indeed “our children will rise up and call us blessed (Mothers), in Jesus name.” (Proverbs 31)

Please listen to the simple request of a child; even our children are troubled over our lack of concern for them.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have been blessed.
